Founded in 2004 as *Facebook, Inc.* by Mark Zuckerberg and his college roommates, the company rebranded to Meta in 2021 to emphasize its long-term vision of building the metaverse.
Meta is one of the worldâs most valuable corporations, with a market capitalization exceeding $1 trillion at its peak. It is part of the âBig Techâ group alongside Apple, Google, Amazon, and Microsoft.
